We’ve had two cat games on PSVR, Catlateral Damage and Konrad the kitten. Catlateral Damage was terrible and hard to play, and Konrad was decent. But now the next big PSVR cat game is out, Kitten’d! So now that Kitten’d is out, is it any good?
Kitten’d is a PSVR game that has you taking care of and playing with cats. There are two different modes in the game, a story mode, and a mode called “my room”. The story mode has you sitting at home when you get a message from your wife saying that a present is waiting for you, once you open it you find two cats and have to take care of them. You play level by level taking care of new cats, while also getting new tools, furniture, toys, and objectives to complete. The story itself is simple, which is fitting for a game like this.
The my room mode is basically a free play mode. There aren’t any objectives in this mode, you get to adopt any kittens you want, purchase anything you want, change your backgrounds and room, and a bunch of other fun stuff. It’s fun to mess around with everything the game has to offer, because there is a lot to do inside of this mode.
The gameplay of Kitten’d mostly consists of making sure the cats have what they need to stay happy. You’ll have to feed them, clean up after them, play with them, and pet them. It’s simple at first, but in the story mode they slowly introduce more and more mechanics which can make it challenging at times. It’s never stressful, but you’ll have to manage multiple things at once when it gets busy.
The controls of Kitten’d are very simple, you only really use two buttons in the main part of the game. Which helps make it accessible and easy to hop in and play.
The graphics in the game are decent. The textures of the objects and cats are good, but the game can look pretty blurry. But when I play a game like this, graphics don’t really affect my experience unless it’s really bad.
So overall, Kitten’d is good. It does exactly what it aims to do, it creates a fun and casual cat caring experience that any age can enjoy. So if you’re looking for a calm experience, or just really like cats, Kitten’d is the game for you! It is also now the best cat game on PSVR.
