Recently I played a game called Angry Birds VR: Isle Of Pigs, it was a fun translation of the iconic game in VR. But what I wasn’t expecting was to see another Angry Birds VR game come out shortly after that, Angry Birds 2: Under Pressure. But unlike the other VR game, this game chooses a different gameplay style. So, is Angry Birds 2 Under Pressure any good?
Angry Birds 2 VR is a game that has you controlling various things inside of a submarine. The game follows the story of the movie, it even includes cutscenes from the movie. One of the main components of the game is the local multiplayer, you can play with up to 4 players at once. You can play by yourself, but it’s not nearly as fun. The VR player is in control of a magnet that can pick up objects inside of the ship, you’re also in control of a plunger and weapon that are outside of the submarine. The TV players are in charge of supplying ammunition and stopping the submarine from getting damaged on the inside. It’s a good balance that gives both players numerous things to do, unlike other co-op games where the VR player does the majority of tasks. The game for the TV players is very similar to Overcooked.
The main game has 9 levels to play through, and each of them are around 5-10 minutes long. But after completing the main game you can unlock a bunch of bonus levels, which will add a few more hours of content to play. In addition to that, some of these levels are really challenging. So you might have to replay a few of the levels. I was definitely surprised when I realized that some of these levels can get really difficult, it was nice to see from a movie tie-in game.
So overall, Angry Birds 2 VR is a fun game. It’s not a must have game, but it provided me and some friends enjoyment and fun moments throughout. I honestly wasn’t expecting much going into the game, but was pleasantly surprised after I beat it. If you have kids to play this with, or are just looking for a fun co-op VR game, this is a good choice!
