Wizard games have been starting to pop up on the PSVR more and more lately. And I’m not complaining, being a wizard in VR is awesome if it’s well done. So when Waltz Of The Wizard: Extended Edition was announced for the PSVR, I was interested. So, is Waltz Of The Wizard any good?
Waltz Of The Wizard was originally a steam VR game that was free at launch, they then added a ton of extra content and bundled it up into an extended edition. I played the Steam VR version and enjoyed it, so I already knew I was going to like this version. There isn’t a story to the game, it’s more of a wizard sandbox.
The game takes place inside of a wizard tower where you get to mess around and do whatever you want. You can brew spells with materials lying around, you can mess with magical objects in the tower, and you can even solve hidden puzzles to reach new areas and unlock new items. My favorite puzzle was one where you had to play a tune to unlock a new area outside of the tower, where you then were able to fight enemies and solve more puzzles. It’s really fun to discover new things like this.
The overall quality of this game is good. The graphics are great, the tower is detailed, there’s a ton to do, and it’s just overall a polished game.
So overall, Waltz Of The Wizard is a fun game. I really don’t have much to say about it, it’s a fun sandbox game if you like being a wizard in VR. The spells are fun to use, the situations that occur are unique, and it’s just a fun little game that’s priced fairly. If you want a VR game that you can just mess around in, this is a good choice!
